Pre-Construction Phase
The most important aspect of any project is in the preparation
Having a complete understanding of a project before the Construction Phase commences is vital.
Identifying items in any works that are likely to cause difficulty and removing those items through engineering expertise, or minimising the impact of those items that cannot be engineered out, is imperative in ensuring that time and monetary factors are always under control.
Below are just some of the things that A&R Consultants can do for you:
- Contract analysis and negotiation
- Estimating – providing quotations, producing pricing templates
- Health and safety information – preparation and evaluation
- Licences – which are needed and obtaining them
- Marketing – for specialist marketing and PR advice and support
- Meetings – both on and off site. Arranging, attending and leading meetings with designers, clients, highways officials, council members, members of the public, press and all those involved in ensuring a project is completed successfully
- Notifications
- Phasing plans
- Principle Designer
- Programming
- Project analysis – trouble shooting, identifying areas in a project that are likely to cause difficulty and removing or minimising those things that can’t be removed before works commence
- Sub-contractor evaluation
- Sub-contractor suitability and appointment
- Technical analysis of – preliminary drawings. Stage 2 Safety Audits, geotechnical reports
- Technical approval – what is needed and how to obtain it
- Tenders – preparation, obtaining, evaluation and analysis

These are the main items necessary for a project; but all projects are unique and require an open-minded and adaptable approach because you really never do know what’s below the surface.
